In the middle of the pandemic, when stress was everywhere and frontline workers carried the heaviest burden, a small group of us wanted to say thank you in a way that was meaningful. Instead of sending snacks or flowers, we decided to create something special: the Secret Message Candle—a stress-relief candle with a hidden encouraging note inside. When lit, the flame revealed the uplifting message.

What began in our founder’s kitchen quickly grew. Word spread, donations came in, and soon volunteers were helping us pour wax, write messages, and deliver candles to doctors and nurses. Before long, we needed more space than a kitchen could give, so we moved into a little greenhouse—where the air smelled like a mix of lavender, wax, and optimism.

Then came a turning point. YueHua, inspired by the heart behind our work, offered us a space to start workshops. That’s when the spark truly turned into a glow. By 2023, Candlescape had become a full-fledged factory with the capacity to create thousands of candles and host workshops for up to 30 people at a time.

But we didn’t stop there. The Candlescape Foundation expanded its mission into charities, offering therapeutic candle-making sessions for children with cancer and elderly individuals facing critical illnesses. These moments aren’t just about making candles—they’re about creating comfort, laughter, and memories in the glow of a gentle flame.

Today, what started as a small “thank you” has become a movement of kindness and empowerment. Our candles light up rooms, yes—but more importantly, they light up hearts.
